Upon opening a faint smell is released from the pack. This is normal and will disappear when the meat is exposed to the air. Extra care has been taken to remove bones, although some may remain.
Oven cook – From Chilled: For best results cook from chilled. Remove all packaging. Pre-heat your oven to 200°C/400°F/Fan 180°C/Gas Mark 6. Brush the chicken with oil and season with salt and pepper (optional). To seal the meat and lock in its flavour and juices, pre-heat your frying pan over a high heat and carefully place the chicken in the dry pan for 2 minutes, turn and cook for a further 1 minute. Transfer to an ovenproof dish and cook in the pre-heated oven for a further 15-20 minutes, turning twice. To ensure the chicken is fully cooked, insert a skewer into the thickest part of the meat. If the juices run clear, not pink, it is fully cooked through. Check product is piping hot before serving. Do not re-heat. For tenderness and succulence cover with foil and allow the chicken to rest for 5 minutes after cooking. We have given you these cooking instructions as a guide only.
