Haji Baba began in the 1970s as one of the very first Halal meat and grocery shops in Hounslow. From the very beginning, we have been proud to serve the local community—not only by providing quality Halal meat but also by playing an active role in community life. We were honoured to support the building of the first mosque in the borough, a project that brought people together and laid strong foundations for future generations.

Our director, Mr. Malik, has always believed in giving back to the community. His commitment to service led him into public life, where he became a councillor and later made history as the first Muslim Mayor of Hounslow.

In 2009, recognising that many of our customers were also shopping at the nearby ASDA, we approached the supermarket with an idea: to bring Haji Baba Halal meat counters into their stores. On 5th August 2009, our first ASDA counter opened—just five minutes’ walk from our original shop. Demand grew quickly, and by the end of that same year, we had opened three more counters. Today, Haji Baba operates in 50 ASDA stores across the UK.

We are proud to employ nearly 250 people, each of whom is fully trained in food safety and health & safety, ensuring that our customers always receive the best quality and service.
